The classic gin and tonic has been around since the British East India Company (British armed forces in India) began serving it as a way to get soldiers to consume quinine, which is an anti-malarial.  Quinine in water, also known as tonic, was too bitter so officers mixed in sugar and gin to make it more palatable.  Portland Syrups has taken tonic a few steps further and fine-tuned the centuries-old mixer.  This recipe creates a beautiful red tinted cocktail that is sure to impress.

  • 1 Lime Wedge
  • 3 oz Sparkling Water
